Join the Jersey City Park Coalition for Free Children Art Activities at our Annual Earth Day Celebration 2024. Join us for a Free Artist Demos & Drawing Instruction workshop. Participants will receive a free art supply pack (while supplies last) Pre-registration encouraged. Walk-Ins Welcomed.

Earth Day at Ferris Triangle Park

Ferris Triangle Park, Jersey City / Sunday, April 28th from 2 to 5 pm

YOU THOUGHT WE WERE DONE? No way! We are fast approaching one of our favorite events of the year-Earth Day! Join your friends and neighbors for a lovely afternoon of art, nature, and community. Help us plant some beautiful trees courtesy of the @nativeplantsocietynj. Along with engaging and amazing art activities from none other than Athena Toledo and Jelly’s Corner. Along with a surprise guest. And, though it goes without saying: free snacks and drinks for all. All ages are welcome. Event will take place rain or shine, no need to RSVP just come along!

Annual Celebrate Mother Earth Festival

Harsimus Cove Cemetery, Jersey City / Saturday, April 20th [rain date Sunday, April 21st] at 10 am

The Annual Celebrate Mother Earth Festival is a fundraiser for & at The Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery.
A wonderful, Family Friendly day of Environmental exhibits, Urban farming & planting activities; learn about our 4-H Urban Farm Club, The Harsimus Honey Bee Hives, The Feminist Bird Club and other JC Parks & Gardening groups, and a petting zoo from Aly’s Barnyard Friends with Baby Goats, Sheep, livestock & other Farm animals, food, drinks, etc. Bring the Family for a memorable day at our Historic Cultural Heritage Park & Permaculture Learning Center with tours by Local Historian and Trustee Mandy Edgecombe from the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy.

PLEASE COME EARLY AS THE PETTING ZOO IS FROM 10 am to 1 pm ONLY. We also welcome our crafty Vendors, & good eats from Cal’s Hot Dogs and our 4-H Club Bake sale.
Adult Admission $10, Children of petting age $5, Vets and Seniors FREE. Also a Special ‘Family rate’ of $25 for a family of four. All proceeds are applied 100% to the all-volunteer historic Cemetery Preservation Mission.

Earth Day Movie Night

Community Church of Hoboken at 600 Garden Street, Hoboken / Thursday, April 18th at 6 pm

Join FBW and Resilience Adventures as we celebrate Earth Day with the free screening of two remarkable environmental films, A Living River and Chasing Coral. A Living River is a short film by award-winning National Geographic filmmaker Jon Bowermaster that chronicles how the Hudson River – after suffering years of overfishing and pollution – is once again teeming with life. Chasing Coral follows a group of photographers and scientists on a “visually staggering and suspenseful” global trek to document how climate change is causing the rapid collapse of coral reefs around the world. We’ll follow each film with an engaging Q & A led by Hoboken’s own local environmental changemakers Noelle Thurlow of Resilience Adventures and Lisa McIntyre from Seasmart. Earth Day-themed mocktails and other refreshments will be served. RSVP here.

Earth Day Celebration and Folk & Bluegrass Festival

Join us on Saturday, April 20th for a day of family fun, music, and sustainability at the Earth Day Celebration and Folk & Bluegrass Festival in Hoboken. Earth Day Film Celebration

Hoboken Historical Museum, Hoboken / April 20 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

On Saturday April 20, 2024, at 6:30pm, the Thomas Edison Film Festival (TEFF) and the Hoboken Historical Museum present a selection of three award-winning documentary films in honor of Earth Day. The program includes “Soundscape” by Timmy O’Neil, a moving portrait of a fully blind hiker and author and his relationship to the natural world; “Flower Gathering at Night” a lyrical visual poem about a mother and son and their relationship to their family garden; and this year’s Global Insights Stellar Award winning film, “Between Earth and Sky” by filmmaker Andrew Nadkarni, which was short-listed for a 2024 Academy Award. Andrew will provide a specially recorded introduction to his film which features his aunt, renowned forest ecologist Nalini Nadkarni who pioneered the study of Costa Rican rain forest canopies. Evening will include a wine reception and a special gift of a non-GMO seed packet for all in attendance!
